About Beach Ballroom and this guide

Dance Classes Toronto is Beach Ballroom’s guide to learning to dance in this city: honest answers for adults, written by the studio on Queen Street East. Below: who we are, who teaches, and why we wrote it.

Beach Ballroom founders Richard and Laura dancing together in the Toronto studio

One belief

Beach Ballroom opened in 2022, founded by Richard, Laura and Erin on one belief: anyone can dance if they’re taught properly.

Richard and Laura spent nearly two decades competing internationally. Richard is a two-time World Champion and two-time British Open Champion; Laura is a British Champion and World Finalist. What stayed with them wasn’t the titles, but how many adults never get taught with real care. Erin came to dance as a parent, watching her son fall in love with it, and brought the business sense that turned a shared belief into a studio.

Real technique, explained so a complete beginner can follow it.

Why this guide exists

New dancers ask the same questions before they ever book: which style, what to wear, how long it takes, whether they’ll be the only beginner. This site answers them honestly, one guide at a time. Every price and policy on it comes from Beach Ballroom’s own pages and is checked before it’s published. Start with every dance style we teach, or use the menu above.
