Just west along Kingston Road

Dance classes for adults coming from Scarborough

Beach Ballroom isn’t in Scarborough, and we won’t pretend otherwise. It’s at Queen Street East near Woodfield Road, a straightforward trip west along Kingston Road from the Scarborough side. Three ways to make the trip, and what’s on when you arrive.

Getting there from Scarborough

Three routes that work for most people coming from the east. Service changes from time to time, so check TTC trip planning before you set out.

Along Kingston Road

The 503

The 503 Kingston Rd route runs from Bingham Loop, at Kingston Road and Bingham Avenue near Victoria Park, west along Kingston Road and onto Queen Street East. Get off at Queen St East at Woodfield Rd, steps from the studio.

Line 2 to Coxwell

Then the 22 south

Take Line 2 west to Coxwell Station, then the 22 Coxwell bus south to Queen Street East. The studio is a short walk from the Coxwell and Queen stop.

Driving

Kingston Road to Queen

Kingston Road brings you straight into Queen Street East. There’s no private lot, but several Green P lots and street parking are a short walk from the studio.

Timed for an after-work trip

Weekday classes run from late afternoon into the evening, with the studio open Monday to Friday from 4 to 9 pm and Saturday mornings from 9:30 to 12:30. That makes it realistic to come straight from work, or to head home after dinner. Doors close five minutes after a class starts, so leave a little buffer on a snowy evening.

Most beginners start with a four-week course, one evening a week: salsa or bachata Level 1, $109. Ask for the next start date when you get in touch.

Two nights worth the trip

Thursdays and Fridays are the nights people make a special journey for. Latin Thursdays start with a short salsa or bachata class at 8:00, then the floor opens; Country Fridays do the same with line dancing and country partner dancing. Both are $10 for the class and the social, and free for members. Our guide to social dancing in Toronto explains what to expect.

Thursday or Friday, the 8:00 class is the easiest way in.

What you’ll find when you get there

An adults-only studio founded by two-time World Champion Richard and British Champion Laura, teaching salsa, bachata, ballroom, Latin, swing and more. No partner or experience is needed, and partners rotate in every class. If you’re new to all of this, our roadmap for starting dance as an adult covers the first month.

Make the trip west

Book a Level 1 course, or come to a $10 social night to see if it’s for you. If you’d like a plan first, book a $99 consultation.
